In Myrxthen, the last city of the world, humans deal with a savage crisis in which the only way to survive is distrusting and sinking the rest.
Everything is chaos since Vodelliscs, human-eating creatures, appear and disappear at their benevolence to spread fear. This is how the Anomaly Extermination Unit (AEU) emerged, an association dedicated to the liquidation, study and control of Vodelliscs as much as possible, while its members risk their lives and having as their own relief the hope of returning to the base where at least they are guaranteed food and shelter.
The story revolves around Sandra Matthews, a teenage member of the AEU, who’s strongest motivation is to save and protect as many lives as possible.
Together, with her workmates, she must hunt down the Vodellus Creatures and find out their origin, while trying to return in one piece.

I’m writing TDH mainly as an Action, Mystery and Dystopian story, in which the main tension is knowing who lives, who is devoured and the unknown that represents the existence of Vodelliscs. The more the story advances, the more humans get closer to them; and diverse events turn the story into a gray moral dilemma.
I’m really putting my whole brain into making this a story where the characters are people like you and me, and not just “these are the heroes and those are the bad guys”.
It's nature vs. nature trying to keep their species.
THE STORY OF TWO CITIES
As the story goes by, two completely different worlds will be explored.
CHARACTERS
I have a bunch of characters for this story. You can get to know some of the main and secondary ones here! Each one of them are made with love and effort, and some of them represent a part of me which makes me feel very connected with them, they're like my own children.
MYRXTHEN
This is where the story begins and the main plot. As we know, it’s the last city of the world so most of the people live in a deplorable situation. But there’s a reduced part of society who doesn’t. So, either you're born with the luck of being born in an upper class, military or politically involved family, or you’re born miserable and probably doomed to live like that for the rest of your life. No matter how hard you work, the probability of having a decent life here it's ridiculously low.
VODEVILLE
Society of the Oscillus, the mutant and intelligent extension of Vodelliscs. Vodeville works as an empire that has long been led by the Hovensdor family, who are considered something of royalty since they founded the city and made a lot of changes that everyone saw as benectful, but it was only on the surface.
The Hovensdors created an internal organization called The Organ (somewhat like the state to us), to which anyone with the required abilities and discipline can join. To offer proper training, greater control and opportunities for candidates, they created the Vodeville Academy.
EXTERMINATORS
Humans from Myrxthen! They're a very strong and skilled group affiliated to the AEU who work killing Vodelliscs and learning about them as much as they can during each extermination.

Sandra Matthews

Girl with an energetic and loyal personality, exterminator in the AEU.
She always fights for what she thinks is right, but she constantly questions the actions of others and wants to know the reason behind everything she sees.
She would sacrifice her life without doubt for any of her companions.
Even if she had to grow up quickly in the past, she used to have a relatively normal life in Myrxthen with her mother, Marina Díaz, who always made great sacrifices for her daughter’s wellbeing. By the other hand, her father, Dr. Ronald Matthews kept a distant and complicated bond with Sandra.
Unfortunately, both Marina and Ronald died during the inducing incident in the story, known as “The Hunt Call”, the first attack of Vodelliscs. She felt terribly guilty for not being able to save her mom and made her lose motivation for staying alive, almost letting herself to be devoured. But she’s saved by the rest of the lead characters, her future companions. Looking at them fighting for their lives even with the current situation, motivates her to do the same and help others, so they could make less people pass through the same pain and fear.
Eventually, they join the AEU and their experiences make them establish a strong bond of camaraderie.
She gets specially close to Noah, who ends up being her best friend and almost like an older brother for her, but even with that connection, a part of her still thinks that there’s an important side of Noah that it’s completely unknown.
By chance during the hunts, Sandra tends to fight very often with Zoey Farley, which made them develop a mutual visceral hate.
Noah Faith

He just looks like a very reserved and irritable guy, but when you get to know him he turns softer and more mischievous.
He doesn’t like to talk a lot about himself, but then he meets Sandra and they develop almost a sibling bond. But even if they were close, the most we can know about him it’s that since he has consciousness he’s been in “complicated” stuff, one of them being that he never was a very dear son to his parents, people he lost when he was 14. That and other circumstances turned him into a very loner person.
Anyway, almost anytime you see him, Sandra will be next to him since she’s so special to him and the first person who made him feel fully accepted without… any kind of family fanaticism thing involved.
I may say that he’s probably the most mysterious character of the story and who's backstory I put most effort into writing. As the plot progresses, Noah results to not be what he seems like and has a huge fear for his friends discovering who is he really, since it's a part of him that he always rejected.
